Parking in Timberline has been a growing problem for several years. The issue revolves around those
residents that do not use their garage and resident/guests who park their cars wherever they want,
blocking roadways and blocking other resident access to their garage. We have received numerous
complaints from homeowners, first responders, and the Town of Clarkstown. While there are several
conditions that contribute to the problem, we need to move forward with resolving it.
What does this mean to me?
- There is no parking allowed on aprons/driveways in front of unit garage, yellow curbs and along
roadways. - The only guaranteed parking spaces are in your units’ garage (All garages were constructed with
two-car garage inside parking spaces. Refer see ** below)
What will happen if I am not in a marked parking space? - You will be fined $50 per occurrence and potentially towed
- Fine is doubled to $100 if not parked in a marked parking spot during a snowstorm.
(Once the snowstorm ends and the community roadways have been cleared, our contractor begins
clearing the parking spaces. You are required to move your car within 24 hours so that the parking
spaces can be cleared. Fine is $100.00 per occurrence, for impeding snow clearing of marked parking
spots)
What can I do to help? - Park in your garage
- Encourage your neighbors to use their garage
- Report to management when cars are parked illegally
- Report to management cars that are left on the property (abandoned) for long periods of time
- Report to management garages that have been converted; these will be passed on to the Town of
Clarkstown for enforcement
